Treo 650 Problems From Keeping Phone in Pocket
Does anyone else carry their Treo in their pocket? I have the keyguard on at all times, but somehow my Treo still manages to make calls from my pocket sometimes. Also, whenever a call comes in, the touch screen usually gets hit to answer or hang up before I even see who it is. I know the obvious solution to this is to carry it on my belt, but I was wondering if there are ways around these two problems.
Under Prefs->Keyguard, I found a place where you can disable the touchscreen when incoming calls are received. However, if I do this, I have no way to answer the phone. Anyone know how to answer the phone if I use this option?
As far as the keyguard goes, can you change the key sequenced that turns it off or anything? I just set a password on it because i am sick of this problem. I guess this is the only solution?
Thank you for the suggestions.

Check out PocketProtector. It allows you customize keys in order to prevent your Treo from accidently turning on in your pocket.

Great... I will check that utility out... Still dont have an answer to the other question... If you disable the touchscreen on incoming calls through Prefs->Keyguard, how do you then answer your phone? Thanks!

You should be able to press the button in the 5-way to answer the call. Other software to look into for disabling keys are TreoGuard and Phone Technician. I personally use TreoGuard with my phone in my pocket, and I haven't run into the problem that you're experiencing. I have keyguard turned on, and I don't have the touchscreen disabled.

no i am in philadelphia
thanks for the help everyone... pocketprotector did not end up working out for me because i found it to be way too buggy, so i am going to just set a one letter password on my phone to make it basically like a more complicated keyguard off... and i turned off the touchscreen when i answer the phone but before i had treoguard disabling all of the keys so i couldnt answer it... didnt realize i had it set like that... so now i can use two keys instead of the touchscreen to answer or reject calls... working much better now!

Careful with keeping it in your pocket, even though you have a password on it you can still make emergency calls.
I have the pouch that came with my Treo and I got jostled once on SkyTrain by some inconsiderate people. Next thing I knew 911 was calling me back to ask if I was okay as my phone had called them.. i've got a full password on my Treo..

The Butler software can disable the touchscreen, but allows you to program it to re-enable it by pushing the "s" key... check it out; I think there is a free trial period.
Good luck!

Here is the link for the Butler trial. My favorite part of Butler is the option to "make these buttons work".
