Treo 650, screen and battery issues

I bought my treo as an unlocked GSM 2 months ago. Since day one, my phone would go randomly in what I call a "sleep mode". The green light would be flashing but if I call my number with another phone, my treo would not ring. The only way to wake up the screen when that happens is by removing and reinstalling the battery. Also the charge indicator LED will never turn green even if the phone is on charge for days. After charging the battery, I must remove te battery to wake up the screen every time. I suspected the battery was at fault. But buying a new battery and another charger made no difference at all.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!!

You may have a bad phone. Not sure if you have a lot of third party apps on it or not. Do you sync your phone so everything is backed up? If you do I would do a hard reset and do not sync the info back to see if the phone works at factory defaults. If it does you know that it is something with your info or apps. You then can sync one thing at a time to see what may be causing this.

My old 650 would need a soft reset every once in a while when I pushed the red or green buttons to wake up the phone I would have to hold them for a few seconds. The soft reset would correct the delay.
Is your battery going dead??
The green light flashing is a alert that you have missed a call , or received a text. You might check out the palm site for a manual for your phone. should be one on line.

My phone has been acting up right out of the box. The green light indicating that I am in the coverage area of my network is flashing but the phone is useless since it does not ring for an incoming call and there is no way to wake up the screen but to remove and reinstall the battery. This may happen 6 to ten times a day.
The batteries are not going dead but the LEDs both on my phone and on my spare charger never turn green to indicate full charge no matter how long the charging period. And the phone always locks up when plugged to wall charger.
I will try the hard reset as You suggested and keep You posted!

If you bought it from a reputable dealer and it has been acting oddly since you got it why have you not returned it as defective? Was it brand new or a brand new refurb unit? Did it come in a white box or was it a sealed manufacturer box with all the accessories, manuals and CD?

I bought it from TIGER DIRECT brand new, not refurbished. Shortly after I bought it I was out of the country for some time with the phone, that's why I did not return it. My mistake!
