Default Treo 650 shutting down...

Hello guys and gals,

I gave in and got the treo 650. It was hard to do but I had to leave Verizon and get Cingular... I am still in the test phase and day 3, I am still have growing pains. My phone seems to be shutting off. The Treo palm of it is still running but the phone will shut down and then restart. Several times it would shut off and then not restart. What is causing this?

I tried the search function and did not come up with a fix. Thanks in advance...

Do you mean that the radio is turning off? Or is the device going into a reset?

Default Update

At times it will go into a soft reset... Other times, it will just turn off... The phone signal to make the phone off. Scenario, I am using a cingualar case, when I put it in, I hea the phone sound/chime turning off. I am avoiding the contact with the off switch. Does it have something to do using a short key possibly?

I don't think a case would cause the phone to go off. Actually, would think it would be the opposite. Do you have any software installed or ringtone managers? After turning the phone back on, do you notice that messages are coming in?

The phone still has all basic programs. I did not load anything yet. I figure I will warm up using it and then add more fun stuff. Afterall I am still evaluating it. I thinki I do notice the messages coming in but not all the time...

Has anyone else experianced this?

cases can often cause radios to turn on and off and batteries to die from hitting the home key

seems some are just too tight and press buttons when torqued just the right way.....

I would soft reset and use the phone for a while and not have it in any case....

I had a holster that kept hitting the home key keeping my screen on unbeknownst to me.....killing my battery.

Sounds like when you put it in your case it is turning it off.....if you are hearing the chime.....
Is the case a holster or a complete case....if it is the leather one it comes with I had to stretch mine a bit to keep from hitting the side buttons.

I will try the suggestion of no case... If it does not shut, off, I am then forced to look for a another case. I am using the cingular 30 dollar case...

How else does everyone carry it around? I am afraid to drop it or scratch it up...
