 |  treo 650 sound Do all Treo 650's have speaker phone and ear peace problems. The 3 that I have had all had problems. The one from Verizon had a volume problem. It was not that loud. The speaker phone was also pretty lame. The 2 Treo's that I got from Cingular are pretty much the same except that the speaker phone produces a lot of white noise as if the volume on a stero is turned up all the way but no music is coming out. I just cant believe for all that money that is the way it is. Is there an application I can get to increase the volumes. I seem to remember seeing one around? Has anybody else had that experience? | I don't know of any app to increase or better the volume....and yes all of them have a problem with crakles in the speakerphone and low earpiece volume.... Do you have the latest firmware? Some...the 1.28 addresses that problem for most of the phones.... I seen a difference but not as much as I would have liked. |

| It is a bit tricky first you need to install 1.23 if you do not already have it..... Then go download tokenwriter and when you start it type this in : write crnm then hit enter...... THen backup and do a hard reset then run the 1.28 update installer from PalmOne.com You can get the 1.23 at this link..... http://home.austin.rr.com/viole |

| firmware updates?? Are you guys telling me that the firmware updates will fix some of the volume and white noise issues that this unit is having? Aslo, will this make it an unlocked unit? If so what is the advanatage of having this unlocked? What applications will I lose from Cingular that are on this phone that are on it right now? I just wish it would work like it was supposed to. Thanks for the information. |

| IT has fixed alot of volume issues with alot of people. mine actually gained some volume and the peaker is not cracking as much. It will not unlock it but it will be unbranded so to speak. No more of the carriers logos. It enables the DUN so that the phone may be used asa modem through BT . Also it reclaims alot of RAM. Before the files no matter how big or little were in packets of 512bs. and now it sorts them in 32bs. So before a file that may ave been only 67bs. took up 512bs. of space. Now it would take up on 96bs. Big difference. I went from 9Mbs. left in RAM to just under 15MBs. of RAM. |
