| Treo 650 Sprint Vision I'm having a problem using Sprint Vision services with my Treo 650. When I go to hop on the web I get the "preparing vision services" screen, and it says "your phone must be configured for Vision services". But when I go to do that, it gives me the "your phone may not be properly configured for vision services..." message. I troubleshot the problem with Sprint technical support on the phone, and they finally told me to take the phone to a local Sprint in-store tech, which I did, and he finally told me he can't fix the problem and there's nothing I can do. Any ideas? |

| well, firstly, have you ever connected to the internet before on this 650, or is this a new problem since you've had the phone?
I would suggest a hard reset and then go into the Preferences - Network screen and set your PCS Vision account all over again. There is a pull down box at the top, be sure you have chosen PCS Vision (NOT PCS Vision Copy) and then under that are the PCS Vision username and password boxes. Be sure in the user name that you use the entire PCS Vision email address that you have set up at Sprint ie. yourname@sprintpcs.com and then after entering your password click SAVE, then click CONNECT.
good luck

| have you done a hard reset yet since this problem? also, is there currently ANY username and password in those boxes? also, make sure you have the most recent software update for Sprint, it is treo 650-1.13a-SPNT (You can find this in the PHONE app, click on your Edit hard button and chose Options - Phone Info

| I did the hard reset, but the "sprint provisioning" is locked so I can't modify it. When I click modify it tells me: "this network service has been pre-installed by your mobile service provider, and cannot be edited. This is the first time I've tried to set it up on this phone, but I had Vision service on my old Samsung flip phone. Is it possible that I'm set up on the wrong Vision plan with Sprint for this phone? |

I would call Sprint and make sure you have the PCS Vision plan for the treo activated. If it is activated, you most definitely will have the PCS Vision option in the pull down box on the Network page. Choose that, insert your correct current PCS Vision email address and password, then click SAVE then click CONNECT. Perhaps when you switched phones from the Samsung to the Treo they never activated PCS Vision on it.

| Good advice Dollface. I have three options on my pull down menu. The two mentioned in the thread and pcs vision. I had a problem getting on and sprint had me change to pcs vision copy and it has worked ever since. Be sure to get to sprint level two service. It will take an hour or so to get through unless you are very lucky...Sprint stores usually don't know Jack about treos.

She said she would fix it and I should wait four hours before trying to access any data features on the phone. I waited...tried again...and same problem. And I still have just the "Sprint Provisioning" option on the network pull-down menu. I get the feeling that Sprint really has no idea how to make these phones work. |

Try and do that and click on New and see if you can manually type in PCS Vision and click save and see if you can enter your name and password in that way. Let me know what happens.

| Thanks. I tried that but it didn't work either. Do you think this is Palm related? I haven't hot sync'd it yet since I bought it, since it didn't come with a hotsync cable. |
