Treo 650 Updater 1.20

can i download this update to an unlocked GSM treo 650 with a cingular brand (I'm using a t-mobile SIM card)

I am not sure if I would try that or not. I looked on the palm site and found this:
"Unlocked GSM Treo 650 smartphone. If you contacted your mobile service provider to unlock your smartphone (subsidy unlock), install the Treo 650 Updater version specific to your carrier: get it here."

I am assuming whomever you bought it from had the phone unlocked through Cingular. Then again you are in kind of a tight spot, because I doubt t-mobile would do anything to help you. So you may want to give it a try. I would wait to see if you get any other responses. You could always try contacting Palm directly to ask if you could do it. They would also be able to tell you about the warranty procedures better than I could.

The Palm site said this about Treo updater 1.17 for the cingular branded phone:
"If you contacted Cingular Wireless to unlock your smartphone (subsidy unlock), you can use this updater. The current lock state is not affected by the updater.".
