I once delieted my "record a sound" file by accident, and now I can't record a new ringtone. Does anyone know a way to get this function back?

I don't think my treo came with a record a ringtone function. Where was it located on your phone?

I don't see that option for ringtones. I know you can record sound for video or pictures. Is that where you are looking?

If you have lost a file that is part of the palm software I would thisnk you could go to palm and either reload the software or get the latest update for your palm.com . Maybe a hard reset would reinstall your file..

You might start a different thread here with " I deleted a file in the palm software how to restore"

Recording a sound to use for the ring tone is simple.

Go to Sounds > Tones > Manage... > New and then start recording.

I'm not sure what you believe you deleted.

I deleted "New." It isn't there to select. How do I get that back?

SharpTenor, "New' is a button, it is not a choice in the list. You could not have 'deleted' it. Look again, use my post for guidance.

    Default Damn

That's why I don't delete things when I'm not for sure as to what they are. I wish I could help you, but I imagine that if you email palm, they should be able to send you the file you're missing.

I used a very complex mirror setup to take this picture. If yours doesn't look like this then ......

You can click new here, or if you click "Manage..." there is again a "New" button in the same location.

    Voila!
