Default Treo as a car MP3 player?

Does anyone use their treo as an MP3 player for their car?
I'm still contemplating whether or not to hardwire a setup to use my treo as an mp3 player in my car. I currently use a FM transmitter (seido), which doesnt sound bad, but every once in a while I get a feedback. I think this happens when its auto checking mail.

Sometimes I get weird feedback from any phone or radio in the vicinity from my Treo. That doesn't happen to you in the car using the transmitter? I wanted to use that but I was apprehensive.

It doesnt happen all the time. And I have treo mounted above the radio. I use IMAP mail, and it still doesnt happen that often, but it does happen.
WHen it feedsback, it doesnt matter where the treo is, because essentially it is connected to the radio through the transmitter.

I get his quite a bit. It's very odd. I was at a doctor's office a few months ago and I could hear it affecting their stuff. The Treo wasn't even on?

As far as using the Treo as an MP3 player, you will always get better sound if it's hard wired to the AUX input on your car. I do this for my iPod and it's fantastic.

I inquired about XM at my local car audio place. They recommened hard wiring the iPod and then using a FM Modulator for XM Radio. I guess they felt the quality of XM pales in comparison to the iPod (or in your case the Treo), so it made sense to drive the quality though the AUX and have the FM Modulator for XM. I'm still on the fence on XM, so I'm not sure what the result would be when using the FM modulator with it.

On my first XM, I had the XM COmmander, which is an FM modulator. Frankly I cant tell the difference between that and now.
The good thing about XM is that I dont have to keep up with making my own tracklist.

I was looking to get it for the Starbuck's station, 80's Hair Band Station (not sure what they call it) and the MLB.

starbuck's station? what do they play on that?
I've just been listening to dance/techno/trance on the XM. I get enough of everything else on my wife's car.
