Need Help treo constantly restarts, help!

It just started doing this the other day, not a looping restart but every five or ten minutes it just randomly restarts.

    - I haven't installed anything new
    - I already did several soft resets
    - Already performed a hard reset
    - Already reinstalled the entire cingular updater starting it from bare bones.

I'm utterly lost, I've torn this thing down from top to bottom yet it still does the same thing. Could it be my battery? Could it be something when I hotsync with my restored data?

any ideas suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

After performing an update <just this morning> per Verizon's website, Mine did the same thing. As I stated in my post from earlier this morning, I went into the \\program files\palm\user\backup folder and moved several .prc files that I didn't need to another folder on my desktop, then I resynched and it was fine. The programs that I moved, <and wanted back> I reinstalled and resynched again. now it seems to be fine. something to try.

Default I have the exact same problem!

I have a Sprint Treo 650 and have just recently started to have the same thing happen to my unit (I actually just registered for these forums in order to get some help myself)! My Treo resets about once every five to ten minutes on average, and I might just leave it alone without running any programs. I haven't installed anything new for a while, and it worked without any recurring resets for a few months prior without any new programs being installed.

I've tried resets to no avail, and it just doesn't seem to stop the recurring resets. So this issue is very important to me as well. I was considering using a zero-out reset as the final option to try to fix this, but I was a little leery of doing it. After a zero-out reset, do you have to re-activate the phone with your carrier? That would be a real pain.

Sorry, I don't know the zero out reset term, but if you mean a 'hard reset', where all apps and data are gone, then, no, at least not for me. However I have Verizon.

    Default just a thought...

Try disabling the "enable local network time" in the date and time menu of preferences and see what happens.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried disabling local network time, however, and the unit reset on me after a few minutes. This is after doing a hard reset and reinstalling just a few of my programs: VeriChat, and WebViewer. I'll try uninstalling both of them, but I doubt that will help. This is getting me worried now. I really hope the unit isn't defective...

I think problem app may be verichat, I was having the same problem as well, I hard resetted my treo and installed each app one by one, for a few days. the last app I installed was verichat. thats when the resets came back. I still use the program because I like it, but it has issues.

Well yesterday I updated to version 2.89b from 2.86b of verichat, it seems to be more stable so far, if anyone else has been having problems with this program. you might want to give the new version a try.
