I would go for option #2 only if you can confirm that it is indeed a new phone and not a refurbed unit. Sometimes refurbs have more hours on them than the ones they are replacing. There are a lot of great refurbed units out there functioning great, but I would probably rather have my old Treo back with the jack fixed than to take a chance on a refurb.
