Treo is just no good with Gmail, right?

Hey everyone, I've had a Treo 650 with Verizon for the past year and I love it. But... isn't it true that the Treo in general just doesn't mesh with Gmail?

Before you jump on me, I've spent plenty of time reading through all the Treo forums. I've tried every single email app out there: Versamail, Chattermail, Snapperfish. And with all of them, within either a day or a few days, they all start acting up and I can't access my email without having to log onto my Gmail on a regular computer to select "Enable POP only for mail that arrives from now on."

Once I do that, it works ok but again, it's only for about 24 hours to 72 hours. After which I have to repeat the process. Which really kind of defeats the purpose of accessing email on the go, and obviously when I'm traveling this is just not an option for me.

I end up just going to m.gmail.com in the browser to check my email, which is terribly inefficient.

My bf uses has a Blackberry 7290 with TMobile which he uses to access his Gmail, and he's never had any problems whatsoever. He's never had to go into Gmail to reset his POP settings.

So my question is, does the Gmail problem just have to do with the RIM vs. non-RIM platform? Basically, do I pretty much have to resign myself to the fact that the Treo is just no good for Gmail? Or has anyone out there actually managed to get it working consistently without ever having to go into Gmail and resetting the POP stuff?

I've been checking Gmail via Snapper for about 6 or 7 months now. Once, about 2 months ago, I had to go to the Gmail site and disable, then reenable POP to get my mail to download to the Treo. Other than that, I've had no problems.

Versamail and Gmail on my Sprint 650 works great. No problems...yet ;-)

Xingular Versamail and Gmail are working fine on mine for the past 2months. I do have some bugs but nothing to complain about

Versamail/Cingular works for me.
Once in a while I can't connect to their POP server, but I've never had to disable/reenable POP.

I used to have the BB 7290 and it did work better, I admit.

I use gMail with Snapper on my 650, and my husband gets his gMail with Versamail on his. We are both with Sprint, and neither of us has any problems.

I've had no problems at all checking G-mail with Chatter Email.

I had some problems with Versamail, but switching to Snappermail, Gmail on Cingular 650 has been flawless.

Its not a main account in that I don't use my gmail much, and only check manually, but gmail w/chatter, no problems.
