Treo keeps freezing?

Hello all,

i have a problem, hoping you guys could help me.

my treo keeps freezing (the screen turns all white) between transactions from programs. for example when i get a text message i press the mail button, and you knwo how the screen turns white for a second to load the mail up? well mine stays like that sometimes. same thing when i press the home button to back out of an app, or when i'm loading into programs. it does it quite alot. the only way i can make it get out of it is to reset the phone. is there any way to make this stop happening? or is there anyway i could format my treo and make it start over with factory settings or something?

Ahhh! What's commonly known as "the white screen of death".
It's usually a problem with a 3rd party app that is causing it. Have you installed anything new recently where you've noticed that this has started to occur?

i've installed several things. i took my SD card compleetely out, so i know it's nothign on there.

on my phone i have: money, ptunes, ringo, verichat, and volumcare.

i've had all of those for a while now. everythign that i have added it has been on my SD card. even those i took them all off.

ohh and one more thing, when at the phone screen, at the top it should say "Sprint" but it's always stuck at "network search..." i do have signal, but that doesn't even read sprint no more.

That's strange!
Well since you don't have a lot of apps installed, it couldn't hurt to hard reset and start over. There may be something left behind that's causing the issue.
Do a hotsync then rename your backup folder on your pc. Hard reset your treo and then perform another hot sync. When it asks you to create a new user or select your old user name, select your old user name and it will create a new back up folder. Than you can add your apps back one at a time and see if you're still getting the white screen of death.

Before you resync (after a hard reset) turn your treo's radio on and see if says Sprint now or you still get the "network search".

ok i hotsynced and deleted everything that i coudl off my phone. the "network search" is now gone. it hasnt frooze...yet lol. so now to find out which app is cauing this ><

hmm, well i found the app i believe. once i deleted ringo the sprint shows again, and hasnt frooze yet. wierd, cause i'm been using it for a while. oh well. thanks for the help very much miller!

I had the same problem… I purchased my Treo 650 about 2 weeks ago, and shortly after I started receive emails this Freezing problem started. After reading thought this forum, many soft resets and hard ones, I still was not having any luck.

It appears that my software was out of date. Palm has a Treo 650 Updater. So far so good, after about 5 hours no more problems. Hope this helps everyone!
