New Treo 650 owner.

And new forum member.

One day old, and I have a major problem. My treo won't wake up. Everything functions fine as long as I use it before the screen goes to sleep. After that I have to remove the battery. Like I said, this phone is one day old, purchased brand new, and no additional software added. I tried everything suggested here, hard resart, shim the sim card. I called the dealer I purchased the phone from and he ordered me another one overnight. I hope the new phone works ok. I'll keep you posted.

Sounds like a defective unit. Let us know how you make out with the replacement.

Update:

Ok, I returned my Treo and received a replacement and everythig is working fine. The other unit had to be defective. So all is well and let the fun begin

Dear Chris,

Am a new Treo owner and have been looking for assistance on utilities like messaging, contacts, etc.

Within few days of my Treo 650 purchase, I was told I needed to do an update. So my phone info is now 1.20 ENA. At this stage, my sms stops at the 160th character and does not go forward. I am looking at one long sms which divides into multiple messages when sent.

also am looking at the facility of sending a contact through messaging. Each time i try it says, THE MESSAGING APPLICATION DOES NOT SUPPORT THIS TYPE OF ITEM.

please, if you can assist.

Hi-
Unfortunately, the Treo is limited to a 160 character limit. Regarding your update, check the updater section at Palm to see if you require an update. If you have an unlocked Treo, then firmware update 1.20 is the latest.

Not sure about sending a contact. Haven't tried that...

I have found that SMS limits what types of attachments you can send but you should be able to fire out out through email.
