    Default treo stuff

I know that this site sells treo 650 case, headsets, etc. But does anyone know if any retail stores (Best Buy, Staples) carries this stuff? I've had my treo 650 for a few days now and am looking to get some stuff for it.

If all else fails then I would just by off the net and get it mailed out. I was just trying to get it asap

Office Depot/Circuit City etc do carry a few items specific to Treo. (a couple of cases, maybe a sync charger, and screen protectors. Beyond that, I doubt you will find much. As far as software for the Treo goes, my local Office Depot carries about 5 different apps. One of them I did buy! Its a bible program. Beyond that, there is not much of a selection. Your best selection for both software and accessories will come from sites such as this one . . . . .

For software, your best bet is to buy online. I would suggest the software store here, or at PalmGear. As for hardware, you may get lucky and find a sale at Office Max, et al. I would advise staying away from the wireless carriers, as the prices are generally inflated. I've found prices at the ET store to be very good for accessories, and the shipping is reasonably quick.

Can you let me know the name of the bible software if you don't mind? Also, would you recommend it to others?

And thank you Stillrockin & Kreth for the input

MicroCenter or CompUSA should have some stuff for your Treo.

Its Platinum Deluxe Bible. Made by a company called Cosmi. I actually bought it a few years ago for my Tungsten E. According to the cover that I still have:
    • 12 translations
    • 5 Languages
    • 2 Dictionaries
    • Promise Book
    • commentaries
    • Reference Works
    • Sermons and Histories
The cons for me are the following:
    • No NIV version- However there is a KJV and I do like to use both! But I really would like to pick up the complete Bible in a NIV version for the Palm
    • Install is kind of sloppy. For example, to install for your computer, places all individual books to your "C" drive. not in a folder called "Deluxe PDA Bible" or anything else. It just scatters little files called mathew/mark/luke, you get the picture, all over your "C" level folder. Now thats easy to fix, as I just create a folder and go collect them and put them neatly in that folder, but it still is not a very good way for it to do it.
    • So if you grab say the whole old testament, it installs one long version of that, and it takes you forever to navigate the books in e-reader or any other reader that you install for your Treo. And to select the individual books in the clunky interface that you are supposed to use to load these onto your Treo is very time consuming. The easier way is to select them all, and place them directly to your card, using a card reader. Luckily I have a card reader built into both my laptop and desktop, so this has saved me this process.
So the bottom line is, even though I use it often, I am looking for an alternative. I saw a post here a few months ago by Antoine of Mobile Ministry Magazine about a project he was working on for another bible program, but I never followed up on it. You might do a search here for the links to the database where they were putting together this bible program.

    Hope this helps!

Another Bible program is Olive Tree. Go to www.olivetree.com. The reader for Palm is free and so are a few translations of the Bible. This program has a few cool features like being able to have two translations up at once and allowing the two panes to haev different verses up at the same time. Let me know how you like it. It is a great free program..I use it all the time to study.

You probably allready bought the stuff you wanted but in case you havnt..
The cell phone carrier what ever one your with sells stuff for the treo. Its cheaper to buy everything online but if you cant find it at best buy or circuit city try your cell carrier.
again its cheaper to buy online though.
