Treo trying to hotsync every second
Hello,
Can anyone please help me?
I dont know what happened to my treo 650.
It is trying to do a hot sync every second. I am not able to work on the PDA any more.
Any thing I try, it starts the HotSync again. I have Soft Reset & Hard Reset the phone but no help.
Please suggest what could be done.
Also is there a way that I can have a backup copy of my contacts from the computer and viewalbe in Notepad or word?
Thanks..

After performing the hard reset, did you synchronize your palm device with your computer? Thsi could have caused the issue to come back... you need to do another hard reset then rename your backup folder
To create a backup copy of your current handheld’s information, do the following:
Double-click 'My Computer' on the Microsoft® Windows Desktop and open the C: Drive.
Open the ‘Program Files’ folder.
Open the ‘Palm’ folder.
Right-click the User folder and select Copy.
Note: The User folder is a truncated version of your User name. Click on the link below for information on how to find your handheld's User folder on your desktop computer:
Minimize the current open windows.
Right-click an empty location of your Windows Desktop and select Paste.
You should see a backup copy of your User folder on the desktop. If you do not see a backup, repeat steps 1 through 6 until the backup is visible.
These procedures assume that you have previously backed up your data with a HotSync operation

Hard reset:
1. Take out the battery
2. Press and hold the power (red phone) button
3. While pressing and holding the power button, re-insert the battery back
4. When you see the second Palm logo (orange circle), release the power button,
5. It should ask you to delete all data
Rename backup folder:
1. Double-click My Computer on the desktop and open the C: Drive.
2. Open the Program Files folder, and click on Palm or palmOne folder.
3. Open your “user folder” and right click on Backup folder.
4. Note: The username folder is a truncated version of your handhelds’ username.
5. Select Rename and type in “Backup.Old”
6. Hit the Enter key.
Hope this helps

Hi:
You might want to try a "Zero Out" reset. You can find all the various resets here:
http://kb.palm.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBC...1,Case=obj(887)
Scroll down to find it.
Let us know if this helps. If so, don't sync for a few days. Use it as a phone only to see if the hardware is stable.
