Default Treo Turns Itself On and Stays On

Didn't find this in the forum. Lots of problems with Treo 650s turning themselves off. Mine does the reverse. Out of the blue, it suddenly lights up. The Keyguard warning appears and stays on until you shut the phone off or press the Keyguard key to use it. When you intentionally start up the Treo, if you don't press the right key very quickly, it shuts itself off but not when it starts itself up.

I had the phone fully charged last night when I went to bed. This morning, it was dead. I suspect it came on spontaneously and stayed on till it ran the battery down.

Anyone have any idea how to fix this? I have dropped my Treo several times--it is awkward to hang on to it. Everything else works like a dream.

There is no phone call coming in. There are no alerts due. There is no alarm set.

    Default Screen stays on

I have had similar problems with my Treo 650. Had planned to bring it up next time I call Palm for support. Yes, I have had quite a few problems with my 650 (phone sometimes turns off by itself, I had a bad USB cable, screen stays on after a hotsync).

    Default Me Too!

My Treo does the same thing. Every few mintues, it turns on and I press the off button to shut down the screen. I thought it was the bluetooth feature searching for something, but the problem continued even when I turned bluetooth off. Hopefully this post will bump this up and someone else will see this.

Is it possible that you disconnect and reconnect to the cellular network because of a weak signal?

This sometimes happens to me even when I turn the phone portion off. I keep trying to figure out what other background apps might be doing this.

Maybe PalmInternals can help figure out what's going on.

I tried using Palm Internals to isolate the issue, but it doesn't seem to give me any data different from when it isn't constantly turning on.
