Glad I can help. Most places will do it too. Before I called, I went into THS Studio at the Eaton Centre and told them I bought a phone and sim off eBay and asked if they could activate it. The girl was like of course! But I was lazy and just called Rogers when I got it instead. I think they're just more happy to sign up a customer.

As far as I know, Rogers is the only Canadian carrier that has a $200 cancellation policy limit. They charge $20 per month for the remaining months in your contract up to the maximum amount of $200.

Telus and Bell I believe will charge you whatever amounts (most likely $20 a month) for the remaining months in your contract with NO maximum limit. You may want to contact your carrier, I guess in your case, it's Telus mobility to confirm.

I am relying on info that was right at one time but since we're dealing with carriers that tend to change policies at the drop of a hat, you're best to check to confirm.

Yep you're correct, Rogers is max $200, I think Fido may be as well. I had to pay $240 to cancel Telus. I originally had a 3 year contract and that would have been $400 when I called them, so managed to stick it out. It's too bad because I honestly much preferred Telus's service, I found the quality much better. I just didn't like being able to only buy their phones from them and have them all locked so no downloading ringtones and such. If you could buy a Treo 650 and use it on Telus no problem then I would have definitely stayed. Not that I'm unhappy with Rogers, but I get a LOT of times I go to make a call and it says Network Busy. Never ever seen that on Telus.
