Question Turning phone on and off automatically

Hi,

I always have a problem remembering to turn my phone (Treo 650) back on, or the ringer on, after I turn it off for a meeting, class or seminar. I thought that it would be really neat to have an application turn the phone off every Tuesday at 9:00 and back on at 2:00. Or any other times I would want. That way I wouldn't miss any calls later in the day because I had my phone on silent, or forget to turn it off before I disrupt the meeting. Is anyone aware of a way to do this? Is anyone looking for a technical challenge? Thanks in advance!

Bob

Default Got something for ya

Try a little appliation called Central. Under the utilities offered in this app, you can set phone on and off times. Pretty useful. There are a few more features that you might find handy. And, the application also offers a "kill pill" in the even you lose your device.
Hope this solves one of your problems.

Treoalarm will turn your phone off and on as well as work as an alarm clock with weather reports. I believe if you post a review on a blog you can get it for free. They might not be offering that now but it was still up on their site a few days ago.

There are also profile programs that do this - take a look at Profile Care or just "Profiles." Ben

I am a big fan of Treo Alarm! Right now it turns on my phone and gets me up every weekday morning, and also retrieves the latest weather! At 11:00PM, it turns the phone off each night. The developer is great to work with, and yes, if you try Treo alarm and blog about it, send the developer a link to your blog and he will activate it for Free for you.

Profiles (mentioned above) is free, and awesome! TreoAlarm is inexpensive, and works well. I enjoy using profiles, as it can change my ring profiles, background color scheme and turn the phone radio off and on by schedule. Have used it almost since buying my Treo.

Yeah, Profiles is handy. I use it mainly to shut off my sounds while I'm at work, so I don't have a ringer going off in the middle of a meeting.

Yeah...I love it for that. I have it set so all "extraneous sound" is off at night except for the phone ringer, and then it comes back to normal in the morning. I also like that it has the profile switcher, so that you can easily change the profile by pushing a button, and even make that change last for a certain length of time. Very awesome program. I'd love to see more from the developer!
