Default Two VZW Wireless Sync Qs

I don't have the Treo 650 yet.. but of course am lusting after one. They're so sleek and shiny. And that keyboard! Anyway, I have some questions about some of Verizon's special features..

    1. Is the data plan needed for wireless sync? Verizon's data plans are way too expensive.. I'd rather do without if I can. I don't really need to read CNN.com everywhere I go.

    2. Does my PC have to be turned on for syncing to occur? I'll be syncing using POP3, IMAP and Lotus Notes. This wireless sync business is not much good if I have my laptop sitting next to me in the car..

    Thanks!

you really dont need the verizon wireless sync.instead you can install versamail that is in the palmone disk that came with the treo

but you still need the data plan to get your emails anywhere wirelessly
you dont need the all you can eat plan

versamail can get your POP or IMAP accounts and you dont need to open your PC

I hadn't considered VersaMail. Can VersaMail also pull mail off Lotus Domino servers?
