unable to read PDF files
installed PalmPDF on the 650, and made a copy of the Palm UG in PDF format then copied that from mac to MMC card, hoping, of course, to be able to read the actual manual on the device. After inserting card in 650, there doesn't seem to be any way to access the file - the pdf is not visible in the card directory. so questions are:
- how does one view data files on the card, or open PDF files?
- is this the wrong app for viewing PDFs?
- how are data files & docs viewed in Palm OS?
- Are there any free PDF readers for palm? which one is best?
- can a PDF reader be downloaded over the air (OTA) directly to 650?
- there's an icon on 650 called DcInstaller - what is it?
- can apps like a PDF reader be run from an MMC card or SD card?

Just open the PalmPDF app. Then you'll be able to browse to the directory where you installed the manual.

The newest version of Documents To Go let's you view PDFs, but that's a commercial app. PalmPDF is the best free app. It's even better than the Adobe Palm app.

I believe that's a ROM updater. You should be able to safely delete it.

Yes, you shouldn't have a problem doing this. In general, it's apps that work with alarms, or replace one of the standard apps that need to reside in RAM.
