Default Unlocked Treo 650 - missing anything vs Cingular Treo 650??

I just want to make sure, before I go ahead and get a Treo 650.

Will I lose anything (Apps, features, upgrade options) by going with the unlocked Treo 650 vs the Cingular Locked Treo 650.

Will I gain anything from going unlocked, besides being unlocked.

I just want to make sure I will not be disappointed with an unlocked Treo 650 on Cingular service.

I am basically getting the unlocked one for free, so it really would have to be a big difference for me to go and spend $300+ to get the Cingular one.

    Thank you for any info!

The unlocked one is better, lest you liek all the Cingualr branding and the XPress Mail program that comes with Cinguar 650s.

    Default Cingular and Treo

I'm just curious about how your experience turned out? Which did you get. What happened?

    Hi,
If you are getting the Treo for free, that great and you lose nothing! If you have a Cingular service, just swap the SIM card and try it out. I have an Unlocked Treo 650 and I use it between different countries and services. It is not a problem to access the web or email, once it is set up. As for updates, well, you'll get them through Palm and not Cingular. I love my Treo 650, it is solid and works great.

I have the Cingular Treo 650 and there is nothing special about additional applications. If anything, there are apps that I'd like to dispose of..

The unlocked version will provide you with more flexibility as you can use T-Mobile, Cingular and not be tied to a contract. If you ever decide to sell it (on eBay), it will command more value as well.

    Hi Chris,

Since you can unlock your Cingular phone I would assume that after doing that you can get the Palm drivers/updaters and that would rid you of the Cingular files. Then, I've been wrong before.
Typos are there for those that look for them. I try to do something for everybody.

I bought an unlocked Cingluar treo 650 but so far I can not get rid of the cingular software, my T-Moble service works fine but I have to wait for the cingular splash page to go off before T-Mobile service kicks in. does anyone know of a way to remove the cingular software? The delete function will not remove it, the Treo 650 drivers for an unlocked phone did not remove it? I am lost now can anyone help?

I haven't had a need to get the phone unlocked (haven't travelled internationally), so just left it w/ Cingular.
