Unlocking Cingular treo 650 without a Cingular SIM card....

Is it possible to unlock a treo 650 from Cingular without having a Cingular SIM card? I'm totally willing to pay for the service. Can somebody please point me in the right direction?

If you are a cingular customer call them and tell them you need the phone unlocked in order to take it overseas and use the sim card they have there. They will give you the lock code and the instructions on how to unlock the phone. You will need a different card from the cingular card to unlock the phone. If you try to unlock it with the cingular sim card in it you will force it to lock up for good with no way to unlock it. The instruction ATT will give will tell you that you need another carriers sim card to unlock it.

I thought there were sites on the internet that you could buy unlock codes for the treo?? I have not searched for them though...

I never had any luck with those on line pay unlockers and I don't trust them. If you are not a cingular customer then find someone on the cingular network. They can tell the cingular rep that it is their phone and they want it unlocked. I don't know of any other way to do it.
