You might want to check out this site. The owner does a lot of Treo mods, and he has step-by-step disassembly instructions.

I just tried, and it worked fine. Anyway, here's another link. If the link itself doesn't work, you can cut and paste to your browser:

Or not... the forum software is condensing the text... Here:

Default Links Work for me

All three of Kreth’s links work for me (all go to the same place). It looks like pretty complete instructions for opening the 650. Not for those who are timid about opening the box but I have done it with several earlier palms. Once my warranty period runs out I’d do it again.

Kreth probably looked this one up on Friday after his flying Treo.

Actually I had found a link a while back to one of his blog entries on rubberizing the side pieces of the case. I held off because I didn't want to void my warranty. Maybe if I'd gone ahead, my Treo wouldn't have gone flying...

Good news.. your instructions got my case open without breaking it.

Bad news.. is now I need to figure out how to detach the screen

Or maybe there's a program I get that flashes the screen to make a dead pixel
work again?

This link was also on the treotricks site.

I don't think it's possible to "revive" a dead pixel via software.

I read about it on a PSP site.

http://www.engadget.com/2005/06/13/p...k-pixel-fixer/

Doubt someone has it for palm.

I have a different screen so I could just change it.

I read the link. It's just a video that cycles through colors over and over to fix a pixel that's stuck on a particular color. If that's your problem, then you could probably convert the video with Lathe or another encoder to play on your Treo with TCPMP. If you have a dead (black) pixel, I don't think it will help, though.
