The new desktop for Vista was installed on my Acer laptop without a hitch and has operated well. Anyway, 1 at a time means you catch your problems before they become problems.

The PIM information is automatically configured by the desktop when you do the desktop sync. Do not do Device Overwrites Desktop. You can do sync or desktop overwrites device.

That sounds like a wise plan, yes - I had planned to rename the old backup folder and only sync my calendar and contacts first sync, then add the programs one at a time like you suggested. I can use the .prc files that are in the old backup folder to do this, correct? I would just have to double click them and they should go into the Palm QuickInstall - one at a time.

You can use the PRC files in the backup folder. However, I suggest taking the time to get the latest releases - that means you are sure with what you have. As for the Palm QuickInstall - that is correct. I personally do not use the Palm QuickInstal; instead, I use PInstall - a bit more functionality and for card installations, you can enter the destination path.

Thanks, I'll check out PInstall. I just yesterday though, spent a few hours and checked each installed program online to be sure I have the newest version installed.

centro update: The keyboard lettering and keys are way too small for me. The sprint rep recommended the 755p over everything in the store. (blackberry and other various brands)

I have played extensively with the wife's Centro and like it, though the keyboard is where I have a hang up. I do lean toward the 755P - other than an additional 4mb of memory with the Centro and the smaller SD card, there are not any significant differences I am aware of.

Do you mean that the 755p must connect to the power vision package? I am with sprint and have their unlimited data PCS Vision pack, will that work?

All of the new vision plans are power vision...at least they charge power vision rates. The 650 does not have the fast processor to take advantage of the faster service. It works just at the slower speed. The newer phones are faster and will work on slow or updated networks.

I am in NM and visiting Albuquerque this weekend. According to sprint rep Albuquerque is still on the slower vision service. How long does it take these local networks get up to speed.

My local network is suppose to upgrade this spring. I am not going to hold my breath.
