Default Upgraded from Tungsten E to Treo 650

I have a couple of problems, and a couple of questions.

1. My phone hangs up immediately on calls. It rings once or twice and then hangs up and I get a msg saying I have missed a call. How do I fix that?

2. How do I find out what version of the palm OS or upgrade I have? I keep seeing posts about upgrading to 1.17 or something. Is this advisable?

3. Will my SD card need to be reformatted or reloaded to be readable in my 650?

4. Can I install software (i.e., documentstogopre8003-en.exe) purchased for the Tungsten on my Treo 650?

5. What software should have been installed with my Palm? I've already had to to a "master reset" due to inadvertently hotsynching with my old Tungsten profile, and it seems I'm missing apps, but I can't tell which ones. Is there a list somewhere that I could compare my installation to?

6. Does the 650 include the kind of functionality that I had to install DocsToGo to get on my Tungsten? Particularly the PDF readability.

The hang up issue I need more details on. Mine will ring a couple of times and go to voice mail. The caller says it rings eight times. I think the call is looking for different towers or finding your phone. More Info??

Old software is not a good idea...contact the third party software and they should give you the upgrade/certificate for your treo 650.

Your card??? Try it in the phone and see if it needs to be formatted. If it does hit menu and format is an option.

Not sure of your carrier with your upgrade,,,but the palm site explains the upgrade and the pros and cons before you upgrade.

Different carriers provide different software for the phone. Sprintincluded docs to go...not sure if it has what you want but you should be able to check after install. (see Disk that came with phone)

the software works on both devices eg doc2go, pdf readers etc. the major mistake is just to transfer one profile onto the other. as you have guessed and found out. as other threads suggest the best option is to install stepwise the software you NEED and see how things go. remember also that software bought for one device may need re-authorised (if possible) from original vendors to have full functionality.

as for lists this will be on your hard drive C:\Program Files\Palm\"your device name" and if devices were named differently then archive and backup have everything you had.

current palm OS is 5, are you perhaps wondering about the firmware for the provider? it's essential not to load the wrong firmware eg t-mobile onto an orange treo for the obviou reasons.

hope that helps
