"Used" Ebay 650 or wait for the 680... - Treo Forums

I'm looking at getting a treo. I like the 650, but I don't want to spend more than $200 if I can avoid it. How "real" is the 680? When will it be available, and will it be on Verizon? I've found several "slightly used" 650s on Ebay for under $200 and I'm a bit learry about buying one on line like that. I'd much rather wait for the 680, if it is a real phone that will come out before Xmas, but if it's going to take longer than that, I'll risk it and go with a Ebay 650...

Thoughts?

Just remember IF the 680 comes out, when it does it won't be under $200.

The leaked pics were Cingular branded, so the 680 probably won't be on Verizon for a while.

Without a contract. No. With a contract, I'd be surprised if it weren't $199. As Kreth mentioned, Cingular will have this phone first.

I'm on verizon right now... I'll gladly take a contracted phone (I'm eligble for the "new contract" price) if it's on verizon and <$200... I'm looking on Ebay becuase right now I need a phone. The speaker in my current phone doesn't work, so I need to use a headset ALL the time... The verizon store here is out of the 650, but will gladly sell me a 700p for ~$400, but I can't afford that. I'm looking to spend $200 tops... So that leaves me with a verizon ready, but uncontracted phone from Ebay, or wait for Verizon to get something I can afford and like...

Have you got a quote from verizon on repairing the phone??

I called sprint when my speaker went out (I dropped it) and they fixed it for $35.00 with a one week turn around.

Come to think of it they have not billed me for the repair. Maybe I should call them.....just kidding I'll wait for the bill.
