Absolutely, if you want to pay full price. I went that route with Sprint (had just upgraded 4 months earlier). I finally just got sick of lugging around a cell phone and a Palm, and I thought the price was worth the security of a warranty, insurance, etc. If you're comfortable winging it, you can probably find a good deal on E-bay.

I would definitely recommend the refurb from cingular.com. It really is as good as new if not better. No blemishes and works great. $140, you can't go wrong.

I had that problem a few years ago. If you go into a store they may sell you one if you renew your contract. At least that's what they did for me.

I just got a refurbished unit from Cingular for $139. Looks like new and has been working great.
