Using 650 as a Modem and Sprint - Treo Forums

I would like to use this device as a modem. I've read about PDANet. I don't want to pay to use Sprint as my ISP as I already have one. Am I going to be charged for data usage? I understand that I will be billed per minute unless off-peak, however.

The Treo 650/600. A Sprint unlimited data plan. Go to www.junefabrics.com. Download PDANet for your model and service provider. Try it for 15 days prior to purchase!! VERY IMPORTANT.

The program has an issue with my PC and tends to hang. Depends upon your settings and service packs. My laptop works better and it's 7 years older. Go figure. I'm going to do a reinstall of the OS (XP Pro) on the PC and that SHOULD fix the problem. June Fab's states that it is a known issue and will patch. They are great at support. Read the testimonials and FAQ's prior to paying and installing. SIMPLE and inexpensive for what it does. My Treo is my lifeline for both internet and phone. Loving every minute of it. Pricing is just right as well.

They also have PDAReach. Cool but not something you need unless you want to spend the couple of bucks extra. Convenient as hell though. Try it anyway though. Another 15 day trial. You'll like it too. Good luck. Need help, send me a private message for a quicker response.

I have Sprint too and downloaded the trial of PDANet right before going on vacation for the holidays. It worked flawlessly. I was able to connect with the synch cable and bluetooth. You can't beat it when you're away from home or wi-fi hotstpots.
