Question Verizon - Treo 650 and plans

I just called my local store and they have no clue. Just call back they seem to say.

One beef I have with Verizon is the price of their network/data plans. They want some additional $45/mo on top of the minutes. They need to get pricing inline with their competitors. Does anyone know if they are looking to adjust the pricing?

Also, should I hold off on the Treo 650 when it does come out since Verizon is rolling out their 3G network next summer?

    Thanks.

everythingtreo.com will be offering the Treo 650 with Verizon service as soon as it becomes available. Sign up for the newsletter and you'll be the first to hear about the release.

From everything I've read it looks like the 650 will not be released until the EV-DO works. The nice thing with this is Verizon openly advertises EV-DO as a broadband internet connection with the Audiovox phone that you can use with your bluetooth laptop at DSL-like speeds. So if you are currently paying for dialup you can switch over to the 650 EV-DO network and I do believe it uses no minutes. You would just need to get the USB drivers to get the maximum speed.

And as far as the $45 for data, if you use it it's worth it. My wife has a 600 and she hits 15 MB's a month easy because she uses mapquest all the time when she goes on sales calls.

Default Email with Verizon Treo 650

Is it possible to do "dial up" email with Verizon's Treo 650 or is it only possible with data plan? If yes, how is it done?
