Default Verizon Treo 650: Reliable or not?

Hi Folks

I am hoping a few Verizon Wireless Treo 650 users are willing to share their experiences of life with the phone, good or bad.

I have this.. um, friend who has been using his since the week it came out. He has gone through at least five units, because they keep breaking (always crashing, rebooting, dropping calls.) His complaining has kept me from getting one.

Is his an isolated experience? Or should I avoid Verizon's T650 like the plague?

Thanks in advance.

did lots of research before I decided, and so far so good. Have had absolutely no problems with Verizon here in Tucson, AZ.

Default I am glad to hear that

I just bought my Treo 650 today at Costco and I will actually be using it as of Sunday. Mt service is through Verizon . I will be more than happy to post a detailed review on it and Verizon service after I have had it for an ample length of time. I am really hoping this works out well because I had to do some fanagling to convince my wife it was the way to go! LO  Nah, she is understanding.

Thanks for the input. How long have you been using it? Do you have a lot of 3d party Palm apps installed?

had it about three weeks, I put on a few apps...but nothing to extensive, kinda happy with the apps that are on there now...reception is good, did purchase a bluetooth Treo headset and I put on a voice dial program voice standard version 2.0 that works great for easy voice dialing while your driving...

Which headset/voice dialer are you using? Always good to hear (no pun intended), which solutions are working.

I come from the ex-Kyocera 7135 camp. THe Treo 650 after 2 months of having has been great. It does reboot sometimes, but far less frequent than my 7135.

I still prefer the clamshell flip design, but the treo has an awesome display, and the qwerty keyboard is way better than graffiti. I didn't think so one month ago though....
