VersaMail Alarms do not sound
Alarms do not sound Device: Treo 650 Palm Applications v.5.2H VersaMail v 3.0c Under Options > Preferences > Auto Sync I have checked "Sync automatically", and under the "Alerts" button I have Both "Alert me of new mail" and "Alert me of failures" checked. I have selected an "Alert Sound: Alarm" When mail arrives however no alarm sounds! (I'd actually like a vibrate alert as well if possible). The phone is not muted via the hard switch at the top and I do hear ringing when I get calls. Is there something I'm missing or do I need to find a new mail client?

Hi onlym3:
Welcome to ET.
It seems as though you have looked at all that should be looked at, so I can only ask one question. After you open the options and drill down to selecting the "alarm" sound, when you tap on the "alarm" selection to set it, do you hear the sound? It should play the sound as a preview.
If you don't hear the test sound, try another. Maybe the files are messed up.
If you do hear the sound when setting it up, but not when you get new email, I don't know what else to do.
I do know that many of the power users on these boards are not terribly fond of Versamail. I use the device mainly for business connecting to a corporate server so Versamail meets my limited need for the personal accounts. I know I have seen Chattermail and Snappermail mentioned frequently. Do a search of the boards and you should find a plethora of information.

Chatteremail will allow different ring tones for different accounts. (versamail won't) It will also allow different vibrations. (Versamail won't vibrate period) It has a summary screen that is color coded so you can view different accounts all from one screen. (not with Versamail) It allows you to store all messages and all message attachments on the SD card. (Versamail doesn't support this) It supports IMAP push email, and its simply amazing! (must have an IMAP capable email account) It also allows you to set up folders on your IMAP server and view them on your Treo. You can move messages in your Treo's inbox to these server folders right from the device!
