Question VersaMail Exchange 2003

Am configuring a new Treo 650 for fellow employee - if it works we may get more. I have setup VersaMail to work with ActiveSync - we run Exchange 2003.

When I try to synchronize the folders - it connects and then says "receiving" then the following error message appears:

There was a problem
syncing messages.
(0006)HTTP/1.1 403
Forbidden
Content-Length: 1549
Content-Type:
text/html
Server:Microsoft-
IIS/6.0
M

I cannot find anything to indicate where the problem is - and therefore what setting is incorrect - either at the Treo or Exchange Server end. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

I'm on Verizon. When I set mine up with them, they told me that since I'm using a POP3 account without an exchange server, that I'm to be using VersaMail. The Mail program is for exchange servers.

But, that could just be a Verizon thing.

What has your provider said?

We are with Verizon also - ActiveSync requires VersaMail. Verizon has their own synchronization piece that requires a PC to be on and logged into Outlook to "push" info to the Treo - we can't use that. Hopefully someone who sees this has the same setup and will know an easy answer - thanks for your reply!!

JC, try turning off SSL on the treo in Versamail. Go to account setup in Versamail, then edit the account you have setup for Exchange ActiveSync. Check settings to make sure they are correct then when you get to the screen that has the test settings button, click on the Advanced button and turn off SSL. See if you can get connected then.

Hope that helps.

To use SSL you have to setup a root certificate on your exchange server.
