versamail rebooting Palm - Treo Forums

I had everything working on versamail and the palm. Now when I try and delete an e-mail from versamail the screen goes blank and my phone reboots. You guys got any ideas to help me.

update I sent another email to my palm and it will delete without rebooting. Maybe it is just that one email causing the reboot. If it is how do you get rid of it. I tried to move it to trash and it caused a reset also!

You might have a corrupted database. Try this:

Hey thanks that worked great.Had a little problem with my account settings but it is working now. I had to use my email providers outgoing server sttings to get the email to work. Now I had to change them to the settings that did not work before...and they are working

Problems have returned again!

When you hot sync does your email (unread) on your pc load on the palm??

I went to check email and there was two messages there that were not there before. I don't believe I have anything set to auto check messages. These two messages if I try and move or delete reboot my palm. I just checked my email and a new message came in. This one I could delete but not the other two.

Is there a special way to delete email that was received via hot sync (assuming that I got them through hot sync)?

Further info. I deleted the two e-mail from my PC then did a hot sync. The two messages are deleted now.

Where can I get info about these issues??

Versamail made my Treo reboot all the time. I fixed it by using Snappermail instead. I just did not have the time to try to make it work.

mine rebooted the very first time I closed out of it. hasn't happened since. actually, I don't mind Versamail right now. suits me alright.

I am right with freezingprocess. I had one email database that everytime I set it up, it would work about 2 days and start the resetting loop. After two times of this, I didn't install it back. I didn't need the addey anyway . . . It was a personal addey and everything I wanted to read was forwarded to it along with most of my spam. It was a good solution simply because I didn't need access to it. If it was critical, I would probably being using snappermail right now . . . . . . Since it wasn't, and I have deleted it, Versamail works perfectly for me . . .

I can't even get into my Versamail without it rebooting. That wouldn't be a problem since I am now using Snappermail except that I had it set to automatically check and alert me to emails. It looks like Versamail came with my Treo and not an addon. How can I delete it completely??

Versamail is one of those applications that Palm embeds in the ROM. Its kind of like quicktour, goodlink, and a few other apps that you never use, or plan on using. There is no easy way to delete them! However, there is a way. And that is to build a custom ROM. This guy has done a lot of it. Follow his instructions at your own risk . . .

OK....I'm lost on this one. Is there an easier way? These instructions kind of exceed my level of experience.
