TCPMP comes with a mpeg4 plugin. Check the folder where you unzipped everything when you downloaded it.

You will also need the mp3 plug in. TCPMP uses an MP-3 standard for audio playback within a movie

I have all the plug ins that came with the latest version installed. I get this message when trying to play an .mp4:

    Error:Player:MPEG4AAC
Audiodecoder not incuded! It was removed from the offical install package becasue of intellectual property considerations.

When I try to play a .wmv file:

    Error:
Player: Audio codec ( Windows Media Audio ) not supported by the player!

In both instances the video will play but with no audio on the Treo. Is there a way to fix this or should I try another player.

    Thanks,
    Russ

Ah... I think you're out of luck with that format, unless you can find someone who installed TCPMP before it was removed. Can you convert the video to another format?

If you do some Googling, you'll find the AAC plug-in that is needed. Do a search for TCPMP AAC Codec.

Thanks Chris I googled and found the plugin just like you said. It works fine now. I use Nero 6 to convert the movies into mp4 which seems to take up alot less space on my card.

Now I will do a google search to try and get the wmv files to work.

    Thanks to all of you,

Default same problems with TCPMP 0.71

    Hi all

I have the same problems with TCPMP: no sounds with wmv files even with TCPMP AAC plugin that i've installed right know. Also i've installed the FFMPEG; MP3; MPEG 1 and MPEG 4 plugins.
with other wmv files the audio and video don't work (Error: player: video codec (Windows media video 9) not supported by the player).

Is any one can help me with that problem please.

From the forums over at CoreCodec.com (the developers of TCPMP), here's what one of the moderators had to say:
For .wmv, it's just best for now to steer away from it on the Palm side. The ffmpeg plug-in supports some versions of the video format, but you won't be able to get .wma sound from TCPMP unless (or until) CoreCodec negotiates a license for it and then codes a plug-in. (For lack of a better description, the PPC version currently "piggybacks" on the bundled windows device functionality to allow for limited .wmv support on that side.)
It looks like there will be a Pro version at some point which licenses the Microsoft codecs, but apparently it's not going to happen until then.

i had this problem but i fixed it by converting everything to real player. When i downloaded the real player it asked if i wanted to set to default and i cliked yes. it converted everything to there files. i still had that dumb message that said dowload media player 9 which by the way if you have 10 allready installed you cant do and palms program is to lame to figure out i have the newest version... anyway it still said that stuff sometimes so i just opened up my quik install and drug the file to my card and then synced it. all my videos work on my phone. and yes they were at one time windows files.

i think this is what you guys were asking right??? if not its cause its late at night and i cant think str8 so with that im going to bed.
