Default Video Content for 650...

Here's a silly question and I apologize if it's been asked before. I've searched the forums (for "tv" "television" and "downloa") to no avail.

I have TCPMP fired up and ready to go, but I have no idea where to find content.

How does one go about locating a TV show on the web to download to a smartphone? (I do not have connection to my DVR, so I can't get them that way.)

Thanks in advance!
Gracie

Okay! I found the info on ripping a DVD in the Wiki.

But I'm still wondering about TV shows. If I bittorrent a show, is there a program that will convert it to a format that I can watch on my Treo?

Thanks again!

(My baby Treo is one day old and I'm in love. This forum has been a wealth of information.)

Wow, I can't believe I missed this thread!

I love video media on handheld devices, so naturally it was one of the first things I got running on my treo.

Since a majority of the things you will get from torrent downloads will be divx, I would recommend the PocketDivxEncoder. It also deals with other formats, and It's free! You can check it out here: http://divx.ppccool.com/

They also have a pro version, which has MUCH better file support, and even makes files specifically for your treo, and allows you to rotate them It only costs $5, so if you're into this stuff, it's the thing to get!

Good luck, and I hope that helps. Let me know how it goes

I also use fairusewizard to rip my DVD's to my Treo. Its free also. As far as Television shows, I take a DVD of say "The Simpsons" and select all 8 episodes on the DVD. I give it a target file size (58 megs) and a screen size of 318x318 and start the ripping process. About 3- 3.5 hours later, I have 8 episodes ready to put on my SD card . . .

Just to chime in for any Macaholics who may have found this thread.
Look into an app called Handbrake. Does what Fairusewizard does.

WE are converting a movie as I type this in. I am going to load on my card via a reader. Which folder do I drop it in for TCPMP???

The DCIM folder's the usual place but once in TCPMP, you can have it look any where.

Yeah, if you are using TCPMP then you can take it to the directory where you put your video files. Shouldn't be too difficult. Keep us updated on how it goes.
