To convert my videos, I use Fairusewizard. http://www.fairusewizard.com But I am in the minority here. Its all you need however, to rip down the filesize and rid yourself of the Digital Rights protection . . .
Here is a popular thread on the best way to rip movies for a Treo . .

stillrockin....I was wondering about loading movies myself. My son has itunes and his movies work with an ipod. Will they work with the treo in that format?
I have tpcmp to play them just need to know the process in compressing or sizing them down. I only have a 256 card co I probably need to upgrade to a larger card.

Hey Plunker!
As far as an itunes download, I am not sure . . . I don't know anything about itunes DRM coding, but have read on the net that fairusewizard will strip the video of itunes DRM, but I haven't personally tried it. If its a video that your Son has ripped himself, I am betting that TCPMP will play it. You just need to make sure that you install the appropriate codec when you install TCPMP. As far as the formats that TCPMP supports, this was copied from their web site:
Supported video codecs
- DivX
- XviD
- MPEG4-SP (plus B-frame support)
- MPEG1
- M-JPEG
- Windows Media Video (on Windows Mobile devices)
Yea, 2 gig cards have really come down in the last few months. I am consistantly seeing them in stores for around $50.00 after rebates . .

I"ll check it out next weekend. He will be down and I'll see what he has on his laptop. I loaded all the plugins (I believe) with tcpmp. We will see about the size and format.

Someone had asked you about the best recommened settings for the treo650, and I know at the time you replied you weren't near you pc. Would you be able to share what settings work best for you using the FUW?

Hey Saved, I have used two settings that I like . . .
One is 318X318.
But for some reason (something with the DVD itself I believe) I don't always have that option. When I don't, I select 332X228 (I think) both versions look Great at full screen.
Most of what I rip are Television Series DVD's. I will drop in a DVD of say, the Simpsons, Family Guy, Son of the Beach, Lost, Reno 911 and rip down 7-8 shows at once. I shoot for a file size of 58 megs for each show (around 220 for a full length movie) I usually don't mess with the sound settings as I figure MP-3 is compressed enough and I won't save that much space by degrading the sound quality.
Hope this helps
