Volume not very loud.

Is their any way to make the volume louder on the phone on phone calls, I have the volume set as loud as it will go for phone calls and its not very loud and I often have to strain to hear what people are saying (for everyone not just a call here and there)... Also speakerphone, often I can't hear it unless its 3 inches away from my ear and the volumn tends to go up and down randomly. I know its capable of being louder since I also play music from it and its REALLY loud. Any suggestions?

Blackhawk...sorry to say but there isn't a solution without a couple bucks......
Believe me I know you here people talk about apps that are good but VolumeCare is like the equivelant of sliced bread.....

The app is very much worth the money ........try the free trial and if after that you thank its not worth it I will pay for it........
I am that sure you will see that big of a difference and appreciate the app that much......
My trial ran out and i thought I was going to deal with the low volume......It was DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!

I think its well worth it and maybe the best app out there for Treo650 performance.....

no offense to the volumn program, im sure it works great, but i just don't think i should have to pay for a program to fix something that palm f'ed up. Hell I just used my phone on speakerphone... and it was actually lower than if i had it off speakerphone... that's not right. why should i have to pay 15 bucks to get it fixed? that's all.

I totally agree with you.......

I have had several phones that are too quite for actual use.....in any kind of environment other than a sound proof booth that is.....

I just figure instead of fighting them to fix it and the endless amount of time without a phone from exchanges I could save time and My time is worth money, I would buy an app and say screw it.

I totally get what you are saying but you are the 100,000th person to say it and still palm hasn't done nothing.....Palm doesn't have the best tech help or customer service by any means....
What SW/FW are you running.....which carrier....
I actually got some added sound when upgrading the ROM....

Hope you find some resolve.....

I liken it to buying a 20,000 dollar car and then finding out it doesn't have floor mats.....Sure they should have included in them in the price.....But they didnt.....
Is the 20 bucks for floor mats gonna kill me if the 20K car is what I want?

yeah i'd prolly get more done by beating my head against the wall than speaking to Palm's customer service. last time I talked to Palm.. to send me a new SIM tray, I felt like I was talking to a wall. I'm not sure if they do their customer service overseas or what but I coudln't understand a word the person was saying their accent was so thick.

I'm running Cingular my firmware is 01.05 and software is treo650-1.040CNG

okay there is a problem there.....
I updated from the exact same FW/SW and I noticed a big change in speakerphone and in earpiece a slight change.....

I would update the ROM with the updater to 1.28 mot the Cingular released update but the one prior that was not intended for the cingular phone.....

If you need step by step instructions Iwould be more than willing to help you go through it tomorrow....it takes about an hour including adding all the apps back into the phone.....

You can upgrade to the cingular updater 1.13 which takes the FW to 1.31 instead of 1.28 which I went to.....
I just updated before that ROM came out and I have seen no differences in phones with the official update for cingular. Send me a PM if you want to upgrade and want some first hand experience with it....

why SHOULD we pay for decent sound PARTICULARLY when someone has identified the problem and upgraded some firmware. that does rather suggest there is an internal re-write that should solve the problem.

well done to volume care (i just downloaded the full version) but surely the hackware identifies shortcomings in the establishedware that might be upgraded?

we also shouldn't pay 500 times what medications are worth....or accept the fact that jewelry companies mark things up 100% so they can give 70% off savings....

its just the way things are.....
