What is a SFX Installer?

i took my battery out of my phone and when i turn on the phone,

I get a white scrren that says, "SFX installer
Installing AFSFXFIX 2/154"

and under that a is a loading bar what freezes half way?

when i press a button i can't do nothing. i think the my treo stalles and freezes.

what should i do to get my phone to work?

Did you recently add any third-party software?

yes i download third party app.

now how do u do a hard reset?
if i do that i will lose everything on my phone.
will i have to call verizon to hook my phone up , or will it just work after the hard reset.

i download i think AppForge Booster and that is what cause. i think.

Hard reset instructions.

Yes, you will lose any data that has not been backed up.

You should be able to make calls normally, a hard reset does not change your provisioning.

When I googled your error message, I found several references to Booster causing this type of problem.

i got the phone to work again after i left the phone off for 2 hours
and than the installer didn't go on.

how do i backup everything on my treo?
i don't even know what app made me download the
AppForge Booster.

i think i will delete to avoid the problem again.

You'll need a backup app to make sure you get everything. BackupBuddy and Resco Backup are two popular choices.

Yes, the reset hole is right next to the battery. You can also pull the battery for a few seconds for the same effect. A third option is a freeware app called Soft Reset, which lets you reset without having to remove the battery cover.
