Did you have a software disc with your bluetooth attachment?

Windows XP: Control panel, printer and other devices, selected bluetooth, on the screen it shows devices I have connected and if they are passkey enabled. Also under options to make your computer discoverable and to allow devices to connect. Also shows which port you have assigned for the device (com port)

I'm not sure I set up a port for this device. Might this be the problem ?

i no longer have the software cd or I would uninstall and start again !

    Man this annoying.

If the devices are asking for pins I would think everything is setup. If you have the name of the bluetooth adaptor you might go to their web site for a pin number. If you have synced these and cannot remember the pin maybe you can remove the device you have connected (treo name) and then try and bluetooth again. Are you on XP?

on your taskbar right click your hot sync manager

    Local should be checked????

Did you look in your bluetooth (windows) to see what devices were there?

Windows XP: Control panel, printer and other devices, selected bluetooth, on the screen it shows devices I have connected and if they are passkey enabled.

Under devices there should be something like palm1 or your name for the user on the treo. What is there?

Also on the options tab make sure to allow connection with this computer is checked.

I went ahead and deleted my bluetooth devices from windows. I then tried to hot sync the treo. Windows prompted me to allow the connection, then asked for a passkey for the computer and then I matched it on the treo. It is syncing now. I would think that you have not setup a setting in your bluetooth on the computer (see above post). When you check them let me know whst they are.

I believe that solution is for headsets and accessories. His problem is being able to sync, only.
