What is the DEAL with Verichat?
Guru's,
What happened to Verichat? I hate Causerie! Intellisync has a nice logo telling me Verichat is no longer for sale on their website. WTF? Underneathe a post by Nokia saying they discontinued Verichat. Why?
Anyone suggest another alternative to the IM application for my 650.
Treo's kick ass! Don't let Steve Jobs tell you otherwise.

jsappo, Welcome to ET. About the only other commercial ones I am aware of now are mundu and IM+ Last week a contributer here reviewed IM+ and did not give it a favorable one . . . And a lot of what he said, I agree with, only not to the extremes that he identified.

Word. Don't have any info on verichat? IM+ can take a back seat. I may have to resort to that if all else fails.

None other than what you have already stated. It looks like Nokia has bought them and at this time is no longer offering it for sale. Maybe in the future????

Nokia doesn't play in the Palm OS space, so I doubt they'll offer VeriChat again in the future. The developers have probably be tasked to develop something else that's in-line with Nokia's product offerings.

Yea, I agree. Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't Nokia control Symbian? I was thinking that they really push that OS and had bought controlling interest in it, but I might be wrong on the controlling part . . .

You're correct about Nokia and Symbian, but I don't know much more than that since those phones are more popular in Europe. Sony Ericsson is another company that uses Symbian OS.
Since PDApps was acquired by Intellisync which was then acquired by Nokia, I would have to imagine that the developers got sucked into doing something more relevant to Intellisync related products. Intellisync provided software that could potentially compete with RIM, Good Technologies (now owned by Motorola), and Chapura.
