Question what is wrong with my phone?!

when i leave my treo 650 alone for more than 5 minutes it gets to the point where it doesn't want to turn back on. the green light blinks but that is it. i pressed and held all different combinations of the buttons to try and turn on the screen but it doesn't work. the only way to get to work again is to either take the battery out or "soft" reset it. but it still does the same thing when left alone for a while. it goes into a "freeze" state. display and keys don't seem to work.

when it is in this "freeze" state it doesn't want to charge either. when i plug it in the light doesn't turn on. i have to soft reset it to get it working again then plug it in. and when i do that it seems to go back into this "freeze" mode and the light never turns green despite the fact that the battery if fully charged. when i unplug the charger the red light stays lit. i have to reset again to get it to work.

someone please help!

id say that you probably need to do a hard reset, you might have some corrupt data in there, if not then you should take it back to the store.

Got any 3rd-party apps installed? You may have a conflict somewhere. If so, try the hard reset like suggested above, then install your apps one at a time to try and isolate the source of the problem.

Default problem still there

i did a hard reset and it didn't seem to work. man that sucks. i think i got a bad one. i just bought it and it was like this. dang i think i got a bad one. thank you guys for helping. really appreciate it.

Need Help Same problem with my Treo 650

Hi,

I am having the same problem with my Treo 650 what Joe is having. I have tried hard reset and it didn't work. I don't knwo what to doi with this problem. Palm doesn't want to help me out as it was given to me as a gift (brand new) and however, I am not the original owner of it.

Please help me if you have any work-around for this probelm.

Do you have insurance through your carrier? Most carriers will let you add insurance up to about 30 days after activating the phone. I got mine from eBay and insured it with Sprint, no problem.

Default Cingular does not offer Insurrance for Former AT&T customers

I am a former AT&T customer and I called Cingular yesterday and they have told me that they don't offer any insurance for former AT&T customers. They have asked me to upgrade to Cingular first if you need to take the insurance on my phone. Isn't it weired?

I've had the same problem although it doesn't seem to be as frequent as what you are experiencing. I've always just taken the battery out and replaced it as you have done.

Yeah i brought it back to where i got it... and they gave me a new one. haven't had a single problem with it so far.
