Arrow What software adds-on are essential

Just got my Treo 650. I work on a Mac and I have Missing Sync. Now, I see there are a lot of software options out there and would like to enchance my Treo with a few purchases.

I got a few standards:

1. Is there a powerful address book/calendar? I use address book and iCal on my Mac G5

2. What programs are solidly built?

3. Some of the program titles I keep seeing are Butler, zLauncher, Agendus Pro, and Smart Shopper.

All I need is a good list program and a smoother address book/calendar.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated!

That Leone Boy!

Take a look through this thread.

Datebk5 (soon to be Datebk6) and Agendus Pro are probably the two most popular and most powerful calendar/datebook apps.

The apps in the thread above are stable.

Are you thinking of HandyShopper? It's a freeware shopping list app that a lot of people have adapted for other types of lists.

Default Ok...Thanks! Here's what I am shooting for

Thanks for your imput! It was helpful. Here's what I have been eyeballing:

Butler
Datebook
Z Launcher

I currently have Volume Care Pro and Missing Sync...my question is:

Am I asking for trouble with the above apps added? (Freezes and all that)

That Leone Guy!

The apps you listed are all stable. I'm not aware of any conflicts. Maybe a Mac user can weigh in on Missing Sync, I don't have any experience with it.

One of the best programs is The Core Pocket Media Player. It's free and it plays most every type of video. And with a program called Pocket DVD you can rip your DVD's and watch them on your Treo.

I use Datebk5 for calendar
and TakePhone for contacts.
I couldn't live with out them.

I got Datebk5 just for floating appointments that the standard Calendar program can't do. Well, at least easily.
TakePhone is great because you can config it to quickly search for contacts by any field, even custom ones you create. You can search by first or last name, initials, title, company name, and even personal notes.

I'm always open to new apps but have found these two to be the best.
