Default Which service provider is the best?

I'm very interested in which is the best because I'm thinking about buying a Treo 650. Any thoughts? Also, when the prices state, say $44.99/mo., is that extra onto a plan? Or is that total with the minutes and everything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The obvious response is that it depends on where you are. In Alabama, I think Cingular has the best coverage State and Region wide. Some of the other carriers loose signals in rural parts of the State when you stray too far from the Interstate.

I would imagine larger metropolitian areas such as Los Angeles, New York, Miami, etc. the coverage is more equal amongst carriers because of the saturation of antennas.

That's a really good point. I live in the Orange County area in California so does anyone have any suggestions based on where I live? I'd really like a Treo but spending $70/mo on the phone bill doesn't sound promising. Thanks in advance.

I'm using CDMA version from Sprint. I don't have to deal with SIM cards and pay $20 for unlimited data transfer.

Do you pay $20 + a phone plan? Or is it a $20 flat rate? Thanks for your reply. Anyone else?

the $20 is for my data-pan only..my phone plan is little complicated because I have Sprint's add a phone plan where me and my girfreind share the same plan with 2 different lines.

Phone plans really have absolutely nothing to do with your Treo, they are competitive based on other company's plans. The data plan which costs me $20/month is free for this first month.

The reason I ask is because I can't seem to find the $20/month data plan you're talking about and I want to get the best deal on plans I possibly can. I totally understand that your plan is complicated because I currently have Sprint and their stuff is confusing. Thanks for your reply.

Here's the link for Sprint PCS vision:

http://www1.sprintpcs.com/explore/ue...less_PCSVision

I think there are 3 packages to choose from to add on to your existing phone plan

1. basic $10/month (I think this plan has a 40mb limit (it's not actually written anywhere but I remember reading it in a post someplace)
2. moderate $15/month (unlimited picture/video mail)
3. Unlimited Bandwidth plan($20/month)

I would reccomend the unlimited bandwith plan if you plan on using Blazer (web application on your Treo).

When you call them up be sure to mention that the first month is free if they don't offeer it to you right away. Good luck and let me know how it goes.

Wow thanks for the great information. How would you rate the speed of their pcs vision. I currently use it to check short mail and it's a little slow sometimes. Is it the same situation with the Treo? Thanks again for your reply.

I guess it depends where you are. I live in Brooklyn and speed seems average,I use Agendus Mail SSL as my email client, takes about 4 seconds to login to my mailbox and on average it takes about 10 seconds to download 1mb worth of emails + attachments. The Web browser aka Blazer runs slow for me though, but I think thats the nature of the application itself as some people on other phone services have reported. I tried out Xino web browser which is much faster but I didin't like the inteface, you also can't download images off of it etc.

Even though Verizon will be thee first phonee company to take advantage of EV-DO network I think I'll stick with Sprint as I think they're next in line to switch over to the faster network. For $20/month though, I'm very satisfied with teh speed as wwell as knwoing that I've got unlimited bandwith.

Reading my previous posts in this thread I really must be sounding like an employee at Sprint, but in all honesty when it comees to customer service its just like everywhere else, they're absolutely horrible and extreemely unheelpful when it comes to technical stuff.
