Why doesnt my Treo power up?
Hi,
I just got a cingular treo 650 (from ebay) for my Fido network. when i turn of the phone off & connect the phone charger the red light turns on, after a few hours when i unplug the charger the Treo wont turn on if I push the red power button. To turn the unit on I have to take off the back plate, pull out the battery put it back in, & the unit powers up perfectly. Could this be that the phone has cingular softwre on it & not the fido software. please suggestion anything.
Thank you

Hello again Rhino:
I know this will sound stupid, but when you say you press the red power button, are you pushing AND HOLDING it? You have to keep it pressed for a moment to power up the phone.
Sorry, but I had to ask. Sometimes the basics are too obvious.

My phone had the same problem... just got the replacement from verizon a couple days ago... i tried all the resets (soft, warm and hard) nothing worked so i called verizon and they sent me a new one for nothing.

Rhino:
That is odd. Does the red button work for other functions except for turning the phone on and off? In other words, if you are in any program and press that one, does the screen turn off and then if pressed again does the screen turn on?
I just realized you said the button doesn't turn the Treo on after charging. I assumed you meant the phone part. Perhaps that was a bad assumption?
Sorry,
SteveTaz
