Default Windows Media for Treo 650

    Hi all-
I'm a newbie to this forum and had a question for you all. I'm trying to access a website www.lynchburg-hillcats.com , with my Treo 650, that has streaming audio, of a radio station that transmits live from that website. Is there any way I can hear live audio, like I can on my computer, by entering LISTEN LIVE with Windows Media? They don't have a choice for Realpayer or anything else.. I know the Treo 700W will work on that website, but is there anyway I can get the Treo 650 to work on that website..??? Any software available for this? I DON"T want to have to exchange my 650 for 700w..I have 15 day trial period with Verizon..Thanks all, and really enjoy reading all this valuable info on this forum..

    Default Well

I know that the Treo 650 doesn't have windows media player. If that helps you at all.

I'm sure that you can find a way to listen to streaming audio on the 650.

I wouldn't run off and trade in for the 700 just yet. Keep in mind the low resolution of the 700. Its at 240X240 as opposed to the 320X320 on the Treo 650.

    Just some thoughts.

The 650 does not support a WMP stream, but you can listen to Shoutcast streams (mp3)

This is true. I use Ptunes to listen to Shoutcast streams.

Is 4.5 the version that comes on the 700P? It may work, I'm still on a 650. I suspect that you'd have problems finding WMP codecs for PalmOS, though.
