Default World Clock

Hello, forum folks....

Question: when I first hot-synced my Cingular 650, the World Clock with the picture of night/day disappeared, replaced by a large digital clock. I have searched the entire phone and can't find a way to restore the pic...any suggestions??

Thanks!!

I am curious, did you upgrade your 650 from another Palm device? If you did, did you use the old devices profile? Check your camera/media apps also. If you see fotos on the device but can't find "media" along with the WorldClock disappearing, I am guessing you pulled old desktop software onto your new treo. If this is the case, you will need to perform a hard reset, and sync again with a new user profile. If your camera is working properly, and you have a media folder, than I don't know what I am talking about and have no idea where your WorldClock went . . . . .

Thanks...I think that is onto what the problem is. Here is what I did: I had an older 650 which was glitching badly and got to the point I couldn't hot sync it. I bought a new one and before I did the first hot sync, I 'removed' the old Palm software (through the Control Panel) so that I would start completely over. However, as you suggested, I noticed that pictures from my older Treo were back on the new one (despite completely reinstalling the Palm Desktop).

Here is where it gets deep for me: If I have to create a new profile after a hard reset, do I have to re-create profiles for any other apps (for instance, I have Epocrates and it's tagged to the same profile)??? Also, as a corollary, I have never been able to get Outlook to sync to the Treo...so that might be a profile problem as well...

Bottom line question: should I reset all the profiles to match Outlook (as I can't seem to change that one)????

Again, thanks...I can find my way around a little bit, but you guys are amazing...I'm glad I found this site!

That's because removing the software through Add/Remove Programs does not delete the user data.

Your best bet would be to rename your user folder. Then after you hard reset, tell it that you want to create a new profile, but use the same name. Then you should be able to reinstall your data one program at a time, and not have any problems with registration codes.

Thanks, I really appreciate that advice...I'm going to try it & see what happens.....
