    Default 680 - bluetooth & other observations

I've had my treo for a day now - overall relatively happy...

can get my emails and surf the web effectively for free on orange's "open access" data plan - had this for years but have never used it much - will now - only need to change to orangeinternet apn to send mails - this will save me a fortune. This was an offer by orange UK around 4 years ago and isn't available now and shouldn't work like this but does:wink:

Dead easy to setup - haven't used a plam device in 4 years but managed to configure email, surf web, hotsync to outlook and send and receive email without opening the manual - it's still in the shrink wrap.

One big issue - the 680 can not handle 2 BT connections at once - despite it having 1.20 - when my current £40 mobile can do this I am gutted that a £300 one can't. So anyone hoping to use this for bt gps and handsfree bt headset at the same time - forget it......unless I have it wrong

I tried to connect my tomtom go one (for traffic data) and my moto bluetooth headset at the same time - the treo briefly produced an error messages - saying I should unconnect one - then it crashed and did a soft reset.......

on the plus side the bt quality is far far better over the headfone with the treo than with all my previous mobiles and I can live with using a 2nd mobile in the car for the traffic - on payg it will cost me no more than £6 - 7 per month - I have a few old handsets and a spare sim so not a major issue.

Other than that - pretty pleased - I have one lazy pixel right at the top of the screen which I can see when the screen is dark but not at all in 95% of the apps I'll be using so this isn't a problem.

Having used WM devices for the past 4 years it's nice to get back to the simplicity of the palm platform - I know that a WM5 device would not have let me download and send emails within an 30 minutes of coming out the box.
