What could someone who works at Blockbuster part-time do on the side that "requires" them to have the applications on a Windows Mobile phone? Even a Palm phone is too much for them.
Heck, I work in Silicon Valley in a high-tech job that requires a college degree, yet my 680 is way more than I need for what I do. I think people like to think of themselves as more important than they really are, so having a highfalutin device makes others think they're power users always on the go.
My favorite are people who get Blackberry's on their own (without their company paying for it), yet their place of employ doesn't have a corresponding Blackberry Server!
Get a Sharp ZAURUS and a StarTAC. That's all most people need anyway, unless you're a CEO (being the CEO of your in-home envelope stuffing business doesn't count, and neither does being President of your Amway distributorship!). LOL! |
I work in communications as well and use my treo every day. I have the 700p, I had the 650, but upgraded because I got a really good deal and a friend wanted to buy the 650 from me. I use this thing EVERY DAY. Honestly, I use it for work but I use it mostly because I'm a Navy Wife and we have 3 very active sons (12, 13, and 15) they play just about every sport and way too many appointments and letters from and to teachers, instructors and coaches, not to mention medicines and the list could go on forever. I have a good memory but it just doesn't last very long ha ha ha. The alarms and reminders and calender features are extremely useful.
The best feature is that during a game or just anything that happens (something is always happening) with the boys I can snap a picture or take a video and send it to my hubby overseas ASAP.
OH, and it does help with work, again, meetings schedules spreadsheets blah blah blah and the ability to connect my laptop to the internet on the road with PDAnet. I LOVE IT!
But you are so right on the spot about other people who "need" it. Hilarious.
