Arrival Dates for Treo680??

I was thinking of getting a locked version since the price was significantly lower with the renewal of my contract but I plan to be travelling more this coming year and would benefit from something unlocked. Although I think I'm competent enough to unlock it myself I don't want to void any warranties by trying to unlock it before the warranty period is over.

Not that anyone asked... lol.

Since my contract was not eligible for the discounted price I had to pay the full price. I just signed onto the contract back in March when I got the Treo 650, but unfortunately the Treo was lost/stolen in August. I therefore was planning on replacing it with a new 650, but when I heard the 680 was coming I waited. On a good note as part of the Thanksgiving weekend sale they were having I did get it at $50 off the regular price of $449.00 plus I will be getting the $100 mail in rebate, so all in all I am only paying $299 for it.

On top of that they told me that since I work for Walt Disney World we have a 19% discount on the telephone service which I did not know about and he signed me up to be able to get the discount. In Florida the discount will probably just cover the taxes as it is, between the federal tax and state and local taxes they tack on to cell phones down here he's probably right on that.

I am very happy with the whole deal so far.

That was a great deal you got. I think if I opted to get the graphite I would've been able to get it for much much cheaper.

Now the only problem now is to get it, Palm still says processing... *sigh*

I just called to find out where my unlocked 680 was that I pre-ordered the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Customer service tells me that they're not shipping unlocked versions until December 1st. Well geez, why didn't they put that on the website? And why didn't they send an automated e-mail saying that if they didn't want to discourage pre-orders? Poor marketing. *sigh* One more week to wait provided I don't get put on a backorder list.... doh!

You should ask for Saturday delivery. Can't hurt...

I suppose I could ask for Saturday delivery but between Saturday and Monday I don't think there will be a big difference for me. I had it shipped to work since I am not home most of the time anyhoo. Ahh well. Knowing my luck I WILL get put on the backorder list and will have it in time for NEXT Christmas. (Oh is thiat my sarcasm showing, excuse me.) But thanks for the suggestion. Much appreciated. :-D

Someone said somewhere else in the forum that the west coast people who pre-ordered are receiving their products first. Hmm. Discriminating against the east coast are we? (This doesn't have anything to do with Tupac and Biggie does it? Hehehe.)

Oh well.... more waiting.
