J, The battery on the 680 has been problematic since day one. The battery conditioning procedure described here, and other forums, is very effective in improving the longevity of the charge, BUT you must following the procedure to the letter.

Please follow the steps below to solve the issue:

1. Turn the phone Off. Connect your Treo to the charger.

2. Remove the battery from the Treo and wait for at least one minute.

3. Remove the SIM card from the device and wait for another minute.

4. Put the SIM card AND battery back into the device and charge the Treo for at least 4 - 6 hours. Do NOT press any key after reinserting the battery. Do NOT switch your TREO On or Off either, it will do so automatically after a short time. Do NOT enter the SIM card PIN if prompted to do so, just wait! Do NOT touch the screen or anything, IGNORE the device completely!

After this procedure, that can be performed and repeated any time, you will now dispose of the full charging capacity and the display of the remaining battery power works correctly.

Note: The battery never sustains a 100% charge once it's removed from the charger. Typically reading 97% immediately after charging. Thus conservation is warranted. Again I direct you to PowerMan (my fav) or Power Hero. Each has free trial offer which I'd recommend you take advantage to test out with your daily uses and routines. My daughter's 680 is still using the OEM battery after 18 months of almost never being turned off, after the "conditioning" procedure. Therefore, depending on the intensity of your usage, try conservation and a charging routine for awhile and see if your battery power doesn't improve.
